(See links below)

Children across the nation are tallying together how much money they are raising for hurricane relief.

GOAL: ONE MILLION DOLLARS OR MORE

The Governor of Iowa, Tom Vilsack, has acknowledged the efforts of this project, and has sent information about this endeavor to the Governors of all 50 states. This project was the brain-child of a 10-year old from Waukee, Iowa. She conceived of this idea as a Halloween fundraiser where children would Trick or Treat for Loose Change (T.L.C.). Some schools opted to collect loose change prior to Halloween by having kids bring in coins from home, while other schools have come up with their own creative fundraising efforts. At the end of the day, all schools and kids who have contacted TLC thus far said they wanted their success to be counted toward the national success of all children across America who want to help with hurricane relief.

PLEASE REPORT HOW MUCH YOUR SCHOOL OR DISTRICT HAS RAISED BY LINKING UP TO THIS WEBSITE:

Click on the link (below the pumpkin logo) that reads:

"Report your collected money here"

If your school or district is still collecting coins for T.L.C., or participating in T.L.C. on Halloween night, please report using any of the following methods:

Have schools collect the funds and turn over a check to any reputable charity of your choice. We are recommending UNICEF and the American Red Cross.

Turn in your loose change to any COINSTAR location (see www.coinstar.com for locations nearest you), and be sure to designate it to UNICEF. Trick or Treat for UNICEF will be donating to hurricane relief this year, and will tally any money turned into them toward the T.L.C. effort, and report it for you. For more info, please visit this link: http://www.unicefusa.org/site/pp.asp?c=duLRI8O0H&b=131717.

All money must be reported by November 6, 2005.

Thank you for your participation!

We salute your students, and the power of children everywhere, to make a difference!
